The McCarthy Tétraul Cup (“MT Cup”) is open to both 1L and 2L Lincoln Alexander Law Students and is an appellant type moot. Students will be assigned to represent either the appellants or respondents in an appeal. Students will compete in pairs and each have 15 minutes to advocate for their party. 

Students can sign up in pairs or as an individual. Students who register individually will be paired with another student.

The MT Cup act’s as a try-out for students to participate in the 2023-2024 competitive mooting program. Space is limited to 68 students (64 participating in English and 4 in French) and is available on a first come first serve basis.

Registration for the MT Cup will close on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 5pm. The registration form will require students to upload a short legal writing sample (eg. a factum, memo, brief or opinion letter that was completed during any 1L or 2L course), the writing sample must be an individual piece of work (group papers/ factums will not be accepted). Research papers or final exam answers will not be accepted.  

Students will receive the moot problem and their assigned party on Friday, April 14th, 2023.
