Negotiation Resources

On October 31/2022, the Lincoln Alexander Advocacy Society (LAAS) alongside Landon Shein of the Lincoln Alexander Student Engagement and Experience team hosted an event to introduce students to competitive negotiations and prepare students for the Lincoln Alexander Cup. During this event, Landon and LAAS shared information about competitive negotiation experience and then the previous Lincoln Alexander Competitive Negotiation teams demonstrated a short competitive negotiation. Upon finishing the negotiation the teams received feedback from Camille Walker, in-house counsel at Telus, and one half of the runner up team from Osgoode Hall’s internal negotiation who received special mention for best planning and self analysis at the Inaugural Canadian National Negotiation Competition. Both the fact pattern used for the negotiation and the link to the demonstration video can be found on the right.

The 2021/22 Lincoln Alexander Competitive Negotiation teams as seen in the video include:

Kate Babony & Lia Douglas who achieved second place at the 2022 Canadian National Negotiation Competition representing Betsy Schechter with Uptown Media.

Taya Mikado and James Noronha who were the 2021 champions of the Lincoln Alexander Cup, James Noronha being named the top advocate of the competition representing Mike Storm.
